At present, we are beginning this section with questions related to Public Health Supervision Status (PHS) for Hygienists and questions related to the Independent Practice of Dental Hygiene. The rationale for this beginning is there has been some overlap between this new licensure category (IPDH) and the PHS status associated with Dental Hygienists. Both, Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) and Independent Practice Dental Hygienists (IPDH) may make use of public health status. Other topics may be addressed on this page in the future. Hopefully, the FAQ sections below will help clarify, for you, the distinctions between PHS and IPDH, however, always feel free to contact the staff office with any questions that you may have that have not been addressed.
